Headaches and Migraines

What Puts the "Ache" in Headache?

Surprisingly, a headache is not a "brain ache."  The brain, most of its membranes and the skull feel no pain at all.  The "pain-sensitive parts", the arteries of the brain and skull, the dura mater that covers the brain and the cranial nerves are infected, pulled, inflamed, stretched, compressed or irritated, headaches will usually result.

Sooner or later nearly everyone gets a headache, but for about 20% of us, they are chronic or recurrent.

Americans spend $2.5 billion on aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen (Tylenol") a year. These drugs, apart from their many side effects, treat the symptoms while ignoring the cause of the headache.  What is our chiropractic approach?
